Meet Scott

As an Oakville North resident, Dr. Xie is an active and devoted community leader.  Recently, he was selected for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Community Service Award for his contribution to the community. He served many years as an executive member of the public school council and a representative at the Parent Involvement Committee of the Halton District School Board. He is also the Co-founder and President of the Chinese Canadian Association for Civic Engagement, promoting awareness and participation in local civic activities. Dr. Xie is also the Co-founder of Oak Medical Education Foundation (OMEF), supporting local health systems, as well as empowering youth leadership and community engagement.

Dr. Xie has over 25 years of professional experience in educational program development and international project management, as well as talent development. He has demonstrated solid expertise in educational program design and professional development in both academia and industry settings.

Over the past decades, Dr. Xie was a member of the President's International Council and took several leadership positions at one of the top Canadian universities. He played a key role in international partnership initiatives and collaborations, business development, and program management. He obtained his Doctor of Business Administration degree from Henley Business School at University of Reading collaboratively provided by Rotman School of Management at University of Toronto. Dr. Xie is a guest lecturer of International Business at top universities both in Canada and overseas. He is also an entrepreneur who has co-founded an Ed-Tech venture as well as a few educational consulting companies in GTA.

Dr. Xie is determined and committed to serving the people in Ward 7 with his unique skill sets, outstanding leadership, enthusiasm, and integrity. He is running for a seat on the town council to secure more resources for ward 7 residents and overcome community challenges. He will leverage his extensive professional and educational experiences to shape vitality and create a new perspective in the Town Council. He also aims to facilitate more responsible planning and development of our community.
