Key Events

November witnessed a series of significant events fostering ever growing community spirit here in town.

Hindu Heritage Month Flag Raising and Diwali Celebration

Such a pleasure to have joined my colleague Councillor Nanda and community members as we commemorated Hindu Heritage Month through a heartwarming flag-raising ceremony. The vibrant display of colors and the resonating sense of cultural pride filled the air as we hoisted the flag, symbolizing the rich heritage and contributions of the Hindu community to our diverse tapestry in Oakville. Following this moving ceremony, the festivities continued with an exuberant Diwali celebration at Town Hall. The radiant lights, joyous laughter, and the aroma of traditional delicacies created an atmosphere brimming with happiness and unity.

Remembrance Day Services

On this day and every day, we are once again called to pause and reflect on the immeasurable sacrifices made by our heroes. Remembrance Day stands as a poignant reminder of the selflessness, courage, and dedication exhibited by those who have served and continue to serve our nation. It is a day etched in solemnity and reverence, a day to honour their memory and express our gratitude. In Oakville, We commemorated this year’s Remembrance Day with our veterans from The Canadian Royal Legion Branch 486 and 114, families of fallen heroes, residents along with our MPs, MPPs as well as my council colleagues in a town-wide ceremony.
